Chahar Mahal and Bakhtiyari province has two important musical traditions according to its geographical divisions: 1) Bakhtiyari music, 2) Chaharmahali music. Bakhtiyari music is very vast and is of great importance. Chaharmahali music consists of the music of Dehkord and its suburbs, and the music belonging to the Turkish people in the province.

The most popular music of Dehkord and its suburbs (Shahre Kord, Hafshejan, Farrokh Shahr, Borujen, Chaleshtar) is the music of sheepherder nomadic tribes in Shahre Kord who are all from Dehkord and migrate with Bakhtiyari tribes.
