Amir Ahmad Rastbod was born in 1973 in Tabriz. He comes from a family appreciative of art and culture. Since his childhood, the songs of classical music of Azerbaijan as well as Iran were imprinted on his mind. According to him, `everything I have comes from such songs and melodies stuck to my unconscious mind since childhood'.
Since 1987, he began learning music under great masters such as Ali Salimi. In 1989 during his teenage years, he was invited to play in Tabriz Radio Orchestra as a Kamanche soloist. In 1992, he won the best soloist award throughout the media of the whole country for playing a piece in Shushtari in a composition by master Salimi. Afterwards he immigrated to Tehran and began cooperating with both the media and the Ministry of Culture. One of his most valuable musical experiences, as he puts himself, is collaboration with the great pianist Ms Novin Afruz in 1995. Their ongoing cooperation has led to his intimate familiarity with western classical music besides performing a number of concerts in various European countries.
In 2002 he became a member of the National Orchestra of Iran under Farhad Fakhreddini. His collaboration with this orchestra also led to a number of concerts in Iran.
He has cooperated with some international orchestras the most significant of which has been the National Orchestra of the Republic of Azerbaijan conducted by Aghaverdi Pashayev. A track in the present album has been selected from his collaboration with this orchestra. Moreover, he has participated in different festivals at times and has won various awards and titles.
